Making Visual Comparisons by Offsetting Time

The Offset Time feature lets you compare a metric across two different time ranges on the same chart, so you can spot trends, improvements, and opportunities at a glance. Common use cases include year-over-year and month-over-month comparisons.

In the example below, we're comparing an agent's call count this year versus the same period last year using a Time Series chart.

Follow the steps below to build this chart in your own dashboard.

    Navigate to the Dashboards page from the left sidebar, then click the eye/pencil icon to enter Edit mode.

    Click the Add Chart button.

    Choose your Data Source Instance.

    Click Okay.

    In the Chart Options pop-up, set your Time Range (for this example, select This Year to Date) and set the chart type to Time Series.

    Click Filters and select Party Name.

    Click the + button next to Party/Agent Name. A new pop-up will appear.

    Select the agent or party name you want to track.

    Click Apply, then click the down arrow to return to the Chart Options page.

    Click Chart Values, choose Call Count (or whichever metric you want to measure), then click the + button to add the same value a second time.

    On the second instance of the value, click Advanced, set the Offset to the time period you want to compare against, then click Apply.
