Overview
You can view any report in the Brightmetrics web application in a different time zone by adding a timezone parameter to the report's URL. This is useful when your team works across regions, or when you want to compare report data with another system that shows times in a different zone.
The change only affects how data is displayed in your browser. It does not change your account settings or the report itself.
Steps
-
1
Open the report you want to view in the Brightmetrics web application. -
2
Find the Windows name of the time zone you want to use in Microsoft's list of default time zones. Use the name exactly as written, for examplePacific Standard TimeorEastern Standard Time. -
3
Click in your browser's address bar and find the
.aspxpart of the URL. -
4
Directly after.aspx(and before any#), type?timezone=followed by the time zone name. -
5
Re-run the report. The report reloads with its data shown in the time zone you chose.
Example
Say a report is showing data in Central Standard Time and you want to see it in Pacific Standard Time.
Original URL:
https://app.brightmetrics.com/UI-2/pages/Reports.aspx#report/860416/40083b62-1c04-490d-8b0a-20d026e2af96
Updated URL:
https://app.brightmetrics.com/UI-2/pages/Reports.aspx?timezone=Pacific Standard Time#report/860416/40083b62-1c04-490d-8b0a-20d026e2af96
The only change is ?timezone=Pacific Standard Time, added between Reports.aspx and #report.
Tips
- Spaces are fine. You can type the time zone name with spaces. Your browser may show them as
%20after the page loads, which is expected. - If the URL already has a
?, add the parameter with&instead, for example&timezone=Pacific Standard Time. - To go back to the original time zone, remove the
timezoneparameter from the URL and re-run the report, or open the report again from the menu. - Check the spelling. The time zone name must match Microsoft's list exactly, including capital letters and the words "Standard Time". The full list of time zones is available here.
